Check for Upgrade feature

Postby mhaas2 » Thu Aug 22, 2002 3:44 pm

I tried to upgrade from the upgrade option. I recieved the version notes and the download button highlighted. Hit the button and my sys tray icon says I am recieving. About 20 seconds later I get an error saying the server is unavailible (could not connect). Downloaded from the website no problem.

Downloading new version of flight log

Postby holm_mikael » Sun Sep 08, 2002 8:28 am

I have the same problem, so this must be a problem of remote host and not local with our PC's. Hope we will get an answer and solution soon.

Could you please look in the program's folder and see if there is a file called update.exe listed. If so could you then let me know what size the file is. I need to know if it is connecting at all or just timing out do to a slow transfer rate.

Thanks

Update.exe is 2.55 MB (2,677,016 bytes) in my program.

I did not mention that I am on DSL and running Sygate Personal Firewall Version 5.0. When the firewall asked for permission for Flight Log to access the internet it was granted.

It should be 3.1 megs. So it looks like it was transfering and then timed out for some reason. I will check to make sure the timeout is longer in the next version.

If this happens again could you please delete the update.exe and retry a few tmes and see if it ever downloads properly?

Thanks
