I am still in the process of transferring all my data from my old system to your solution. To achieve this I created a test database jsut to see what happens before I made the entries to my final database. In doing this and during the data load the follwing would be useful for the future.

1. Could you display the database name loaded in the blue bar at the top of the screen.

2. Could you increase the number rows in the drop down boxes to say 25 to save scrolling down when then is a long list.

3. Would it be possible to have a manufacturer node, thus avoiding re-typing and also ensuring that names are consistent just like the suppliers. Thereby making data entry the same as the suppliers with a drop down box on the forms.

During this long process of adding all the data I also notice the following bug.

a. When you add a new category to the Accessory node it does not appear in the list. Collapsing the nodes to base base container and doing a refresh will not enable the node to be displayed. The only way is to close down and re-start and then all is well.

I am now in a position to try more features of the application, with all the data loaded for the models and their associated accessories.

I have loaded some of the flights so as to explore the functionality.

1. When rpinting the reports the magins are set too narrow and so the printer crops the text, is there anyway of setting the printer margins.

2. This has been raised in an earlier discussion and wondered if any progress had been made on same. That is adding the flight time in the Log report.

3. The maintenance log seems to trucate the models name to 3 characters, a bit of problem when you have two CAP 232's, one being CAP 232-120 and the other CAP232-10. For the CAP 232-120 the log title appears as CAP.

4. Is there anyway of printing the flight log without having to specify a model..?, if this were possible then you could print the log for say a date range or even your total log.

The database name is printed in the status bar at the bottom of the program. The top bar is used to display your current folder you are looing at.

The refreshing thing is an issue. I will see if I can fix this.

I have not looked much at the report printing features. I am sure you can set these up.

I have not noticed the cropping of the aircraft names. I will look into this as well.

There is no way of printing a report for a date range. This could be added in future versions. I have not done much work on reports. I have not been asked for them so I decided not to spend a lot of time on reports. The only report I ever use myself is the overdue maintenance report. I print that out before I head to my workshop.

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for your feedback, I was in China for a week on business trip and managed to finish the loading of all the data in the evenings. I created another database for getting the feel of the solution and am now reasonably OK on how to make it work.

I must say that it is a great piece of software and thanks for sharing same with us fellow modellers. Had a bit of a shock when I saw the final figure of how much I had spent over the years, but her indoors has not understood what it is all about thank goodness.

Must say I am looking forward to the next version.
