Regonial Behaviour

Postby poerqwa » Sat Dec 14, 2002 12:08 pm

Hello,

I'm using Flightlog for some time now. It seems that your program is hard-coded for using the . (dot) as a decimal separator instead of looking at the regional settings of the pc. In my case (which is true for Europe) the decimal separator is a , (comma) and the thousand indicator a . (dot).

Do you think your program will reflect such behaviour in the future (or did I just sleep and you already program it but you need me to make a config change :))

Regards,

Marc

I never thought about that but I just changed my regional settings in my control pannel to Italy and it seems to have changed all the decimal place holders to commas from dots. And in the voltage for batteries it also changed.

Is this not happening on your system?

Could you let me know exactly where you are not seeing the correct display?

Thanks
Shawn

Yes, this is all happening
As well as some calculations don't add up. Example Accessories totals don't show up correctly the first time. But when all subfolders are opened (or maybe only one, did not check) it recalculates correctly.
Oops, my mistake. It seems that you chose to use the net cost for all aircrafts(so without accessories) in your main overview of all aircrafts.
Adding an amount (price for instance) of 3,75 will always show as 375,00.
This is true for all windows that allow an amount change where you want to be decimal specific.
See also the Stores overview

Voltage (after adding a new flightpack with 1,20 volts) shows up 0. Costs entered with 7,20 is changed into 720. Changing a different field for the same flightpack add a factor 100 to the amount.
Date formatting is correct(as this also changes, we use dd-mm-yyyy)

Some other issues/requests
If you click on add Flight log in the Add/Modify Flight session without entering a location you get an error message (You must select a Field). Now I'm an IT guy so I think in fields as input fields, you prob mean Location??

The Pilots overview show as third column "Roll", I think you mean "Role" as this is how the field is call when adding/changing a pilot.

The doubleclick feature for a column:
Is it possible to use the widest of text for automatic resizing a column (so also taking the column name into account)?
How about a resize all columns in a window feature?

I'm using version 1.7.0 Build 129

Well this is all for now.

Greetz,

Marc

I can recreate everything except the voltage. When I enter 1,20 volts I get 120.00 volts.

Can you please try this again?

I have fixed the currency one already.

Thanks

Hi,

Here we go:
Voltage default value 1.20 (dutch standard 1,20)
When entering 1,20 and clicking save the value shows up as 12,00
If I save again (without changing the voltage) it shows up as 12.000,00
3rd save (without changing anything) and the voltage shows 0,00

Hope this helps.

Greetz,

Marc
